At the V Spa, we utilize the DermaSweep MIcrodermabrasion System which offers an advanced skin exfoliation and revitalizing treatment for your skin utilizing breakthrough technology to renew and rejuvenate your skin. The DermaSweep bristle wand literally sweeps away the dead skin cells while the gentle lifting action of the vacuum cleans pores and enhances blood flow which can stimulate collagen in the lower layers of the skin which can have both a firming and toning effect. As the bristles are swept across the skin, tiny microscopic openings are created that allow specially formulated infusion serums to penetrate the skin. The treatment is concluded with a silk bristle that gently buffs the skin while continually delivering the topical serums. Each treatment can be customized for your individual skin type with different bristles, different vacuum pressures, and different serum infusions allowing not just an exfoliation but a complete skin health treatment perfect for your skin.
Microdermabrasion is a progressive procedure. You will see results after the first visit, but more significant and longer lasting results will be seen when completed in a series.

What are the different DermaSweep Skin Specific Infusions and why do I need them?
The DermaSweep Skin Specific Infusions are specially blended serums developed to meet specific skin needs and concerns. For those patients that need more moisture we have a hydrating solution, for those who deal with acne, we have an acne clarifying solution. For any client who deals with dark spots and hyperpigmentation we have a skin lightening solution. For clients who need an anti-aging/photodamage treatment we have the Antioxidant Vitamin C treatment and for anyone who needs an exfoliant boost we have an exfoliating serum.

How does DermaSweep feel during a treatment?
Some clients describe the treatment feeling as wonderful, like a deep cleansing while other clients describe the treatment as scratchy feeling and a bit irritating. The bristle sweeping of the face has a slightly abrasive feel to it while the silk buffing is gentle and soothing to the skin. Almost all patients describe the DermaSweep treatment as generally very comfortable and are excited to return for follow-up treatments.
How will my skin look and feel after a DermaSweep treatment?
Most clients describe their skin as smooth, hydrated and refreshed. Some clients experience a tight, tingling or windburn feeling. When deeper treatments are performed the skin may feel sunburned, warm or a bit swollen. The skin is often quite red, may feel a bit raw and only soothing products can be tolerated. This will most likely only last for the first hour after the treatment.
How many DermaSweep treatments will it take to get results?
Many clients will notice an immediate improvement of their skin after only one treatment. As a result, a light treatment with the DermaSweep is often requested immediately prior to big events such as weddings, prom, and class reunions. In most cases though, clients will usually initially want anywhere from 4 to 6 treatments. For some clients they will be happy with the results after only two or three while other clients will need even more than six. It depends on your skin, how you care for your skin between treatments and what you are trying to achieve. After your initial treatments, most clients will find it helpful to return on a regular basis for maintenance treatments to help enhance and maintain results. For some clients this is every month, for some every other month, and for others it might be every six months. You will help decide this regimen basis on how your skin is doing, your time, and your budget. Remember, maintaining the results of any skin treatment also has a lot to do with how you take care of your skin between treatments!
How do I maintain the results of my DermaSweep treatments?
You can best maintain your results by eating healthy, drinking plenty of water, using the proper skin care regimen and ALWAYS using the proper skin care every day! (Yes, even on cloudy days!) Most clients find that booster treatments are needed occasionally throughout the year for maintenance. This might mean a monthly treatment, every couple months or twice a year. You will find the best maintenance program for you based on how your skin reacts, your time and budget.
Is there anyone who should not do a DermaSweep Treatment?
For your safety, at The V Spa we do not perform DermaSweep Treatments on anyone who is currently on Accutane or anyone who has been on Accutane for the past 12 months. We do not treat anyone who has an active cold sore or a current herpes simplex breakout. We do not treat any clients who keloids or anyone who has warts in the treatment area. We will also not treat anyone who has an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients in the skin specific serums. We will not perform an infusion on anyone who is pregnant. We will also wait at least one week before performing a DermaSweep treatment on anyone who has had another microdermabrasion, chemical peel or intense light pulse treatment.
